WORD's Family Resource Centers are staffed by AmeriCorps members serving the Western Montana Literacy Support Corps.
Our mission is to empower parents to raise healthy and successful children by taking a greater role in their child's education at home and at school.

To acknowledge, observe and celebrate diversity among Youth and Seniors in the Florence Community.
Then, Now and Common Ground
Community Service Project Goals:
Goal One- Coordinate Project: Luncheon for Seniors Citizens and Middle School students at Florence School. Communicate with the participants to organize, resource, and schedule the project.
Goal Two- Develop and Facilitate Activity and Luncheon:
Develop questions and facilitate a conversation that encourages participants to share their life experiences growing up in the first half of the 20th century and the early 21st Century. Common questions should inspire different descriptions of environmental, educational, social, cultural and economic circumstances
Goal Three- Document: Then, Now and Common Ground:
Develop a method to document the conversation, produce a DVD, and create a ven diagram to illustrate Then, Now and Common Ground on a bulletin board in the school, and tri-folds for the Florence Carlton Community Church, Ravalli County Council on Aging and Farmer's State Bank.
